My Reminder

just got back from watching Miss Saigon in Sydney. such a good production. the acting, sing and orchestra were amazing. the set was designed quite ingeniously. always fun watching the set move around. the songs were nice as well. love the song Sun & Moon. sad ending though.

but anyways the main reason as to why I'm blogging is to make sure i don't forget. this is more of a post it note :P.

next year my plans are to watch Spring Awakening and Wicked. well i don't really mind not watching Wicked, it would be nice but its in Melbourne. Spring Awakening i have to watch though, no doubt about it. been waiting and hoping that it comes to Australia since the start of the year.

so yes things to do next year, and things to do now is start some assignments.

till the next blue moon cya

Camp Croc

Hey

What to say about camp croc. Well i'm defiantly glad I ended up going. It was one of the best things ive ever done. It’s a bound but with some little twists. Putting up with kids, playing with isn’t much different from putting up with other members of your camp group. Your limits are constantly being pushed and finding how much further they can become. You find yourself constantly eating. In stead of caring packs your giving piggy backs. You also learn that corn doesn’t digest well.

The program they have running is amazing. For volunteers to be running everything it freaky how smooth it all turns out. I was worried about some issues before camp. Like how I was going to deal with fights, smart asses, runners and wetters. I think you do learn quite quickly though. Hmm just connected that I should actually explain what im talking about, for the people who have no idea what they’re reading.

During the holidays vinnies runs camps for kids who come from families that struggling for a multitude of reasons. Like for instance broken families or families that are just finding it hard to get by. So its just for kids to have some fun and enjoy themselves. What james said is soo true, that they deserve these camps cause they are just amazing. They all so different have so much potential. The kids on the camps age from 6-12 so they’re primary school kids and runs for five days. On this camp there were about 35 kids, with an average age of 9.6 :P.

Anyways on the first Sunday night of the holidays all the oldies (leaders) met up at Merici. Had a little meet and greet and got some things ready. Accidentally took to many m&m’s in one of the get to know you games. Made templates for our shirts. My shirt rocked, crossed the croc and snake templates. Oh and did some intense laminating as well.

Well what actually happened on camp is pretty much a blur. So this is bits of what I remember.

Played hours of uno, lego and making friendship bracelets. I started to get addicted making the bracelets.

Some how I got stuck doing initiation as well as the ugly pageant. Initiation was the worst and the ugly pageant was kinda fun.

Initiation was a race consisting of three stages. The first bit was fining a lolly with your mouth in a bowl of caned noodles, and then a run around the room. After that you had to find the three smarties in a mug of milk and I don’t know what else. But it sure did curdle good. Then another run round the room. And finally you had to pour some liquid over your head. I don’t know what I was thinking but the first think that came to my head when I got to the mug was drink. I got half way though the mug and then realised I could just spit out the other half of the mug in my mouth. Must have looked quite bad because Marchall chucked.

The ugly pageant was pretty fun while sucking at the same time. I wasn’t meant to be the one who was going to do the pageant but that’s how it turned out. I had lipstick all over my mouth. Tooth paste smeared over my face. Sunscreen, moisturizer, and hair spray in my hair. Wear a puffy gray dress with pillows making curves. My nails got painted red. Didn’t win though. I was hot compared to the others :P, and the tooth paste burns your skin.

Played some death frisbee as well. I don’t know what we were thinking at the time but it sure was fun. Surprised that we didn’t have any serious injuries. Did take a frisbee in the back of my head and two in the mouth, which cracked my tooth.

My stump band got ripped off as well. We were wrestling and one of the kids accidentally grabbed the band. O well, I flipped him :P.

The films that the groups made in the rotations were awesome. Poor blow up croc didn’t have a chance.

Singing at the camp fire was possibly was the best night out there. Had a tone of fun singing the silly songs. Love the milk song, singing in the rain and the crazy moose. Which I still can’t get them out of my head. We sang the jaws song, aint gonna jump no more, and the boom chicka boom song.

Shower time was interesting and for some reason didn’t do early risers.

Warm and fuzzys were the worst. They’re a really nice thing to do for the kids and the other oldies, but they sure are a pain. The warm and fuzzys is just a note you write to each kid and oldie something positive about them. First thing it’s hard to remember them all, and because you have no time in the day to do them you’re up doing after the night meeting. Which finishes about 12:30, and all you wanna do is sleep. On the last night I was the last one to sleep because all the other oldies were doing the other oldie warm and fuzzys at the after party. I couldn’t do that because I was going to be in the Blue Mountains, so ended up sleep at 4.

Never get over Troy and his fence, and Emma’s hussy call.

The disco went well. On the last night we had a disco. That was heaps of fun. The skits that the kids preformed were really good. Brad and Jackson’s were hilarious.

Swamp wars. It’s good and it’s bad. Its fun but damn you hate it at the same time. Some kids just get way to into the game it can get violent.

Im really glad I got to know victor and Kristen, being that it was there last camp. Victor if you needed the definition of cool you would just point at him. Kristen is amazing she’s defiantly going to be an oldie when she grows up.

All the Slifkas are amazing as well. They’re so different but cool in there own way.

Read bed time stories or if we were really good made up our own story (it worked sometimes) to get them to sleep. Thank you Paul Jennings.

Well that’s all I can remember what happened at camp at the moment. Heaps of credit to the leaders Michael and Niamh. An unbelievable amount of preparation they put in to make camp awesome. And credit to the other oldies making everything work. Going on the next camp for sure.

And I guess this is the end of the post.

Night :)

Catch Up

ok lets look back since i last blogged properly

holidays from what i can remember were:

and yeah thats all i can think of at the moment

stump was great :D. the theme of stump must of been dust. first prize has to go to sounds like chicken. that was an A+ performance. when breathing the dust to air ratio was just amazing, you had to be there. saw nates first steps in becoming a minor christian celebrity :P. the music was ace. saw scat :D, playjerise, antisceptic, marcus bandcroft, sounds like chicken, the fifth nation, and some other ones but i cant remember their names. Scat was awesome, have to go see them live. drummer comes out with his snare, "youre a flaming idiot, get back on the kit."
the talks were :) and :D. the gathering was :D, while elected ones were :). right now im glad that was given a note book and pens to take notes on most of the talks. i think one of the best talks was by michael frost. the main thing that sticks out in the bible study was he tells us that we need to be reckless in our faith. where he goes on to question if our church was to be taken away from the neighbourhood, would there be grieving over the loss?
umm the late night jazz jam was awesome, i reckon you all would of loved it. i sure did make a fool of myself, but i got to finish but the 12 hours :D.

since then ive had school :P

ok lets elaborate on that. school wasnt to bad, there were those moments where you wonder why youre doing the subjects that youve chosen. well really just one subject :P. chem eww. just wasnt interesting.

i went on the vinnies night patrol twice. first time was heaps more fun then the second, but it was still good. had a better group the first time. we went out for steak before we went out :P.
hehe i was talking to one of the ladies, pat. she and this other lady just really hate each other. well pat was telling me about how a few days before she saw the other lady trying to pick up five brothers out side of cube. i dont know what kind of "brothers" they were, but it sure is funny. head heaps of other funny stories about them as well.

went to lucas box social. twas fun. haha man alex + bottles soo does not work. i fact alex + bottles + shaun really doesnt to work.
saw borat. went to far, and was to long.
saw the prestige. that was a great movie :D. the ending tied everything together.
mum wasnt to please with me walking home from webbys, o well.

each thing that ive posted about has seemed to of gotten shorter. :S

umm, ive just realized that ive got quite a bit of work to do before i leave for this ecumenical service next year. really should start that.
need to find:
- images of 20th Century figures who have been icons of the compassionate life from various Christian denominations (not necessarily the best known and some quotes that go beneath their image)
- work with matt on creating some poster for people to sign there name on
- and making cookies :P, but i'll leave them to the last minute

saw the korean show tonight. highlight was the swaying dresses :D. the show wasn’t to bad, bar two of the acts. the fan dance looks awesome, very pretty, with there fans and dresses. drum "dance" was ace as well. looked like heaps of fun. i would suck at it though. i cant keep time. the third dance, no idea what it was called but i'll call it the dance of the swaying dress :D. with that kind of name you cant go wrong :P. the monk dance was ... boring. “sword” dance for some reason reminded me of the japanese soran bushi dance. couldnt get in to the opera cause it was in korean. so it got boring. im sure it would of been funny if i could understand. the final dance was cool :D. like ling i wanna get one of those hats with streamers on the end :D.

the hats are called sangmo

had my presentation evening. it was not to bad. surprised by nicoline's composing ability. received a champanate medal and a marist mates bronze award as well. i found out that i could of got a silver award if i filled in all the sheets.
my results, i can live with them. though im cut i stuffed up my maths and physics exam. o well like i said i can live with the mark i got.
got chosen as house senior. next year will be interesting.
on the night hayden and lee's speech i think summed up the year. strange feeling when hayden mentioned daffy. i think for most of us we place the event out of our mines to cope. to see hayden up there as well showing his emotions amplified everything he said.

im going to dedicate this post to dot. ... happy birthday :D ... :. sorry i forgot. will think of something for you.

well time for bed,

ja bye bye

Feelings by Damien Anderson

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.

What would you think of me now,
so lucky,
so strong,
so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.

So what would you think of me now,
so lucky,
so strong,
so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

And if you were with me tonight,
I'd sing to you, just one more time,
a song for a heart so big,
god wouldn't let it live.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World

i guess i'll see you there daffy ...

THE BIRTH OF THE STOOGES AND THE SCROOGES part 1 ish

There once was a man named mark. He wasn’t the brightest of men but he had a dream. A dream that one day he would find the sacred road to enlightenment…in other words’ finding the fat guy who was happy, Markus was known as fish to his comrades and colleagues for some weird reason. He sure didn’t resemble a fish well at least I didn’t think so.

Fish lived with his family of bajillion actually it was more 20 ish I think, Von, his mum was a proud and hardworking single mother (of an orphanage) because Master Jam’es had left the poor family to do karate sending back stupid remarks and bits of money. With most of the children growing up so quickly many had already gone out to seek their fortunes most had ended up in random places over the world. Many of the aunties who helped Mumma Von had left cause they could get an “EDU-CAT-SHUN” on the other side of the world not that we didn’t provide enough we just lived in a hole.

Anyways one day Markus (fish) decided to go find the road to enfatenment. He went to the orphanage to say his goodbyes. Mumma Von gave him a pair of red shoes. Not high heels cause that’s gay. He got red sneakers. Mumma Von gave Markus a big hug and some food to take on the journey. AND SO Markus set off on the journey ahead.

Soon Markus found himself in a small village, and then a midget appeared. It introduced itself as Tim Kwan also known as TK. He started to do some weird dance and started singing. Markus soon found he was dancing and singing too. All of a sudden all these freaky midgets appeared and started singing and dancing. “Follow the yellow brick road” they all freakishly chanted. TK was screaming his head off and started to lead Mark down some really greenish yellowish road.
